THE GHAN Departing Darwin

The Ghan is one of the worlds great rail journeys. It travels the 2,979kms from Darwin through Alice Springs to Adelaide.

During your time aboard the The Ghan, all superb restaurant-quality dining and onboard beverages and off train experiences are included. Transfers to Darwin Station from Darwin select CBD hotels are also included. 

The Ghan Expedition departs Darwin weekly on Wednesday mornings and also Saturday mornings from April to October.

The Ghan Expedition

Darwin to Adelaide (2025: April to October inclusive and 2026: March to November inclusive) - Coast to coast, through the fiery Red Centre, experience Australia at its dramatic best. Your four day, three night (2,979km) journey includes all meals and beverages on board plus your off train experiences at Katherine, Alice Springs and Coober Pedy (with optional scenic flight/tour of Uluru also available - additional fee).

Darwin to Adelaide (2025: March and November) - Your three day, two night journey includes all meals and beverages on board plus your off train experiences at Katherine, Alice Springs. It's also possible to start or end your journey in Alice Springs for a shorter experience (one night, two day).
